Who We Help

“In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.” – Charles Darwin

OUR FOCUS:

Where we work - The Yellow Bus Foundation takes a unique approach to partnering with Canadian children facing either life-threatening/chronic illness or those young people disadvantaged through no fault of their own. We support organizations with a budget generally under $2 million and focus on grassroots charities who take a hands-on approach to their work. We work very closely with our charity partners. YBF funds a number of initiatives each year ranging from vital medical equipment for children with life-threatening illnesses, to sending children to specialized camps or fostering the emotional well being of children facing tough socio-economic situations.

How we work - YBF hosts two signature events each year. In additional, the YBF Board members personally donate funds in excess of the administrative costs of The Yellow Bus Foundation, allowing 100% of funds you send to us to go to the charities we support.

Who We Help:

The Yellow Bus Foundation is proud to support its 2010/11 charity partners:

Autism Ontario operates 9 summer day camps across the province. Due to their specialized needs, children with autism often find it difficult to integrate into a standard summer day camp program. Specially trained staff and a low staff to camper ratio are required. Together, staff and volunteers will provide a safe, exciting and active summer program as well as a great place to meet new friends in the presence of positive role models for kids with autism.

The Blake Boultbee Youth Outreach Service (BBYOS) is a charitable, community-based outreach service established in 1989. BBYOS is a key agency in the area directly serving the 12-25 year-old children and youth, unique in providing long-term and intensive counselling, therapy and life skills training.
