Who We Help

The Yellow Bus Foundation supports registered Canadian charities who have an operating budget generally under $2 million and provide benefit to disadvantaged youth or other children living in Canada who suffer serious medical conditions and/or illnesses.

In December 2009 we distributed over $250,000 to the five children's charities we supported this year:

Autism Ontario operates 9 summer day camps across the province. Due to their specialized needs, children with autism often find it difficult to integrate into a standard summer day camp program. Specially trained staff and a low staff to camper ratio are required. Together, staff and volunteers will provide a safe, exciting and active summer program as well as a great place to meet new friends in the presence of positive role models for kids with autism.

The Blake Boultbee Youth Outreach Service (BBYOS) is a charitable, community-based outreach service established in 1989. BBYOS provides a variety of services to high-risk youth and families in Blake-Boultbee, a high-density low-income area of east Toronto. BBYOS is a key agency in the area directly serving the 12-25 year-old children and youth, unique in providing long-term and intensive counselling, therapy and life skills training. BBYOS accepts referrals from social service agencies and schools from across the city, as well as client self-initiated and drop-in contact.

The Centennial Infant and Child Centre Foundation whose mission is to support the education, development and rehabilitation of children with intellectual and developmental challenges to enable each child to reach his or her full potential.

The Jennifer Ashleigh Children's Charity assist children from birth to 21 years of age, who are not illness or disease specific - filling the gap where other charities leave off and act as a “safety net” for Ontario families when all other resources have been exhausted including: Emergency Financial Relief, Respite for a pre-determined period of time, Developmental therapies, Educational programs, materials, instruction, Specially adapted computer equipment and software, Medical treatments not covered by government health plans or insurance, Recreation that promotes a child's involvement in the community.
